If you follow these tips, you will enjoy beautiful and healthy extensions with long-lasting durability.
The base material used is exclusively 100% human Remy hair. This means that the hair is aligned in one direction and is chemically untreated beforehand.
Since Indian hair is naturally very dark, a complex and lengthy colouring process is required to lighten it. During this process, the cuticle is opened to allow the hair to absorb the colour.
The cuticle remains intact after the colouring process due to the gentle dyeing method and the high-quality raw material, eliminating the need for a silicone layer. Nevertheless, the hair is somewhat more prone to dryness after colouring.
When you dye your natural hair, it receives nutrients from the scalp for regeneration. Extensions, naturally, lack this source of nourishment.
Therefore, we recommend washing the extensions with shampoo only as often as necessary. While shampoos clean, they also strip the hair of nutrients.
After each wash, ensure the shampoo is thoroughly rinsed out. Then, it is essential to apply a conditioner or a restorative mask, leaving about 10–20% unwashed to maintain a protective layer. In between, a leave-in conditioner spray or hair oil for the tips is advisable.
For straight and slightly wavy hair, we recommend restorative care products available in drugstores, typically labelled with "Repair." If you prefer professional care products from L'Oréal Professionnel, you can order them from our online shop at www.lola-extensions.de.
For curly hair, we recommend Brazilian conditioners or masks, which can be ordered in our shop.
Wavy to curly extensions are naturally more difficult to comb. Unlike smooth to slightly wavy hair structures, heavily wavy extensions should never be combed or brushed when dry. The reason is that the comb teeth or brush bristles can snag in the hair, pulling out individual strands or stretching them to the point of breakage.
Use rinses or conditioners that facilitate combing. Comb the hair only while it still contains the rinse or conditioner. To avoid tangling, divide the hair into 5 to 10 cm sections and comb from the bottom section upwards.
Conditioners that make combing easier are available in our online shop under "Care Products."In principle, only use a wide-toothed comb with ample spacing. Brushes should not be used on wavy extensions. For our curled Brazilian extensions, we advise against combs altogether due to the spiral-shaped curls, recommending instead that you use your fingers to detangle.
Our wefts are always double-stitched, ensuring the hair is securely held in the seam. Brazilian hair is also very robust, making it less prone to breakage.
However, some strands will inevitably be lost or become brittle and fall out on their own with each combing. This affects only wavy to curly hair and is, as explained above, inherent in its nature. It is unrelated to the quality of the hair or the weft seam. With naturally curly hair, new hair grows. This is not possible with extensions.
Losing individual strands gradually cannot be entirely prevented. However, careful styling as described here can significantly reduce it.
